As part of a full property renovation of this beautiful property in Bearsden, we rebuilt an unused and impractical garden room with lots of beams and pillars into an open uninhibited space. A zinc roof was added as was a large patio with steps and planting details.
The show piece was a stunning island which was handcrafted using solid oak and veneers. We designed it in an updated slimline shaker frontals as a visual contrast to the reeded top drawers. The curved edges make this huge island look delicate and modern. The existing fireplace was opened up to semi recess ovens and warming drawers. We incorporated varying drawer depths from 600mm to a full extra deep 750mm to ensure there was no dead space and every corner was accessible with ease.
The ceiling height and units were planned in detail to allow a reproduction plaster cornice to run all along the top.
On the sink side, we didn’t want customary wall cabinet. We designed a mantle like feature that houses keys, sockets and switches. Some open shelving with recessed lighting and a couple of feature lights really frame the sink so well without making it look busy!
We also built custom wardrobes and renovated all the wet spaces in the property.
